Folk Cuisine
I am not a world-famous chef, but cooking has been part of my life since childhood. I grew up preparing traditional dishes from my culture, especially the unique Saudi folk cuisine.
While it belongs to the wider Arabic culinary world, Saudi food has its own identity – distinct, elegant, and less known outside the region. It combines simplicity with richness, offering a taste of authentic tradition that feels both homely and refined.
What makes Saudi cuisine truly special are its unique elements: the delicate aroma of mastic (mistika), the comforting depth of jareesh (cracked wheat), the tangy flavor of fermented red corn bread, and the art of smoke-infused dishes that elevate simple meals into unforgettable experiences.
Through my courses, I aim to share this hidden gem of Saudi cuisine with students everywhere, showing how our everyday dishes carry both deep heritage and high elegance.
